Zermatt skiing.

Zermatt is the most southwest of all ski resorts in Switzerland.
southwesterly of the great Swiss ski resorts, The Matterhrn ranks as one
of the highest and one of the most majestic. Access from the valley below
is via railway only. The skiing,is superb. A complicated network of
chairlifts, cog railways, and gondolas carries skiers to such peaks as
Stockhorn, Rothorn, Riffelberg, Trockner Steg, and Testa Griga.

Summer skiing and other things to do in Zermatt in summer.

Most popular and famous is a visit to Gornergrat. From the gentle summit
unfolds a world-class vista of tumbling glaciers and soaring alpine peaks.
In fact twenty-nine of Switzerland's thirty-five highest summits (above
4000 meters/ 13,000 ft) are immediately visible. You can reach Gornergrat
easily by mountain train which is located just opposite the main train
station in town.
Second on our list is the Klein Matterhorn.
View into Italy and even to France are amazing. On a clear day it is
possible to see forty peaks over 4000 meters.
One arrives at the summer ski slopes. One can ski well here.
Also worth a look is the free glacier grotto at Klein Matterhorn. The
lifts to the klein Matterhorn are found at the southest end of town about
16 or 20 minutes from the train station.
Rothorn features its own beautiful panorama. Rothorn offers a perfect view
of the Matterhorn. Rothorn offers less spectacular views of the summer
snows and glaciers than from Gornergrat or Klein Matterhorn.
